Currently, the Board of Directors of Farm Credit Armenia is composed of seven members elected by the members who attend the cooperative annual general meeting. The board also includes two independent board members chosen by the directors. 

Seryozha Hayrapetyan
Board Chairman, Khndzoresk village, Syunik marz

 

As the mayor of his village, Mr. Hayrapetyan is responsible for improving living conditions of village residents, securing financial resources to support low-income families and coordinating all major activities in the village. He has an MA in Law from the Syunik Institute in Goris. His farm operation of 54 hectares consists of wheat production, vineyards and orchards.
 
On February 4, 2010 Mr. Hayrapetyan was re-elected by the board to a four-year term as its chairman.


Seryoja Hayrapetyan was born on January 23, 1966.

Ashot Zakaryan,
Board Member, Vayq city, Vayots Dzor marz

 

Zakaryan graduated from Yerevan Polytechnic Institute in 1977 with an MA in Mechanical Engineering. Since 1982 he has held managerial positions, including with Vayq CarColumns (1982-86), Armruralchemistry District Union in Vayq (1986-89), and Beriutyun Regional Production Union in Vayq (1989-2005).
In 2000, he founded Vayq Group Ltd. which
operates a winery and dried fruit production. He also has 27 hectares of vineyards and 45 hectares of apricot orchards.
On February 4, 2010, Ashot Zakaryan was elected at the general meeting  to a
four-year term as a board member from Vayots Dzor marz. His term ends in 2014.

Rafik Ohanyan
Board Member, Ptghavan village, Tavush marz

As the mayor of the Ptghavan community, Mr. Ohanyan is responsible for organizing social activities in the village such as maintaining its cleanliness with the help of local schoolchildren, planting trees and flowers in public areas, organizing community events, finding resources to support families in need, and supporting families that are building homes. He is the past director of Ptghavan secondary school where he was responsible for coordinating all academic and social activities, as well as finding resources for helping children in need.

 

 Since 2002 he has been board chairman of Vardashen NGO aimed at improving the living standards of refugees living in his region. Ohanyan has an MA in Pedagogy from the Pedagogical Institute in Baku, department of Russian Language and Literature. Mr. Ohanyan has 6 hectares of crops and a peach orchard which he is expanding.

On February 4, 2010 Mr. Ohanyan was re-elected at the general meeting as a board member from Tavush marz. His term ends in 2014.

 

Rafik Ohanyan was born on November 27, 1956.

Nver Poghosyan
Board Member, Urtsadzor village, Ararat marz

Mr. Poghosyan has a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Yerevan State Technical College. He owns and operates 150 beehives and has 450 apple trees in his 3-hectare farm. He produces quality honey and is considered one of the leaders of the apiary industry in Armenia. Poghosyan`s honey is in great demand and is extensively consumed in Armenia as a replacement for imported sugar.


On February 4, 2010 Mr. Poghosyan was re-elected at the general meeting as a Board Member from Ararat marz. His term ends in 2014.


Nver Poghosyan was born on March 25, 1957.

Vahram Harutyunyan

Board Member, Aratashen village, Armavir marz  

Mr. Harutunyan has an MA in National Farm Planning from Yerevan State University. From 1991-96, he worked as the president of Aratashen Village Council and, from 1999- 2002, he was the head of the Aratashen community.

Since 2002, he has been engaged in horticulture agricultural production. His farm operation of 43 hectares of arable land currently consists of 20 hectares of vineyards.

On February 4, 2010, Mr. Harutunyan was elected at the general meeting as a board member from Armavir marz. His term ends in 2014.

 

Vahram Harutunyan was born on February 5, 1954.

Gevorg Mikayelyan

Board Member, Kamaris village, Kotayk marz

 


Mr. Mikayelyan has a high school diploma and has attended a Technical School for farm production.
Since 1991 he has been engaged in cattle breeding, husbandry. At present time he has two hundred heads of cattle, 60 head of pigs, 15 ha wheat sowing. His farm is equipped with necessary equipment and agricultural tools, has 10 employees. Mr. Mikaelyan operates one of the largest farms supplying/delivering milk to “Chanakh” factory, he ranks the third among large farmer. In 2007 he was elected “Farm Credit Armenia” UCO CC Board member from Kotayk marz for three-year term of service.
In September 2011 he was re-elected “Farm Credit Armenia” UCO CC Board member from Kotayk marz.


Gevorg Mikaelyan was born on September 17, 1963.



Avetiq Ghukasyan

Board Member, Ashtarak city, Aragatsotn marz

 

 

In 1983 Mr. Ghukasyan graduated from Armenian State Engineering University and has a Masters in Manufacturing Engineering.1988-1992 he passed postgraduate course in Powder Metallurgy at the same University. In 1992 he obtained Graduate certificate in Business Administration Swinburne University, Australia.
1983-1986 Mr. Ghukasyan served as a manager at the maintenance department of Podolsk Cable Factory, Russia. 1986-1991 he worked at Engineering Department Yerevan Cable Factory. From 1991-93 he was the assistant to the Minister of Higher Education & Science of Armenia.
1993-95 he held the position of Project Development Specialist USAID/Caucasus.
From 1995-2000 Avetik Ghukasyan was the co-founder of Aries ltd. (
www.catering.am), since 2001 he has been the founder-director of “Aries Liber” company. The same year he was appointed as the Honorary Consul of Estonia in Armenia. Since 1995 Mr. Ghukasyan has been a freelance simultaneous interpreter.
Mr. Ghukasyan is also engaged in horticulture and production of fruit vodkas.
In September 2011 he was elected as a Board member of “Farm Credit Armenia” UCO CC from Aragatsotn marz.


Avetik Ghukasyan was born on August 19, 1961.


 

 


Arayik Abrahamyan
Independent Board Member, Yerevan city

Mr. Abrahamyan has an MA degree in Civil Law and Engineering. He has worked as a legal advisor and consultant in Armenia for the following organizations: Central Bank of Armenia (CBA), Areximbank CJSC, Armimpexbank CJSC, and Lend Bank CJSC. Since August 2007, he has been the chief legal advisor of Haypost CJSC and since 2010 he has been executive board member of the same company. Haypost CJSC is the official national postal operator of the Republic of Armenia which provides postal, payment and retail services. HayPost currently operates through 900 offices across Armenia, from urban to the most remote regions. On November 30, 2006, the Dutch HayPost Trust Management B.V. took over the operations of Armenian HayPost. Abrahamyan has participated in training at the Bank of France in “Legal Aspects in Central Banks.” Abrahamyan was the lead lawyer with which FCA UCO CC worked at CBA in becoming registered. He is experienced in law and accounting, and is very familiar with CBA regulations.
On November 4, 2011 he was elected “Farm Credit Armenia’ Independent Board member.


Arayik Abrahamyan was born on February 26, 1971.


Vardan Urutyan
Independent Board Member, Yerevan city

Dr. Vardan Urutyan, PhD in Economics, Adjunct Associate Professor of Texas A&M University, Graduated from the Post-Graduate Studies department of the Armenian State Economics Institute in 2003 and the postdoctoral program in Agribusiness Finance and Risk Management at the University of Guelph, Canada.
Dr. Urutyan started his career with the USDA Marketing Assistance Project in 2000, as Assistant/Advisor and Lecturer at the USDA-funded Agribusiness Teaching Center (ATC), a joint Armenian-U.S. agribusiness education program. He is the Director of the International Center for Agribusiness Research and Education (ICARE) foundation and the Head of Agribusiness Department of the Armenian State Agrarian University since 2007. Dr. Urutyan is a member of a number of international organizations such as: International Food and Agribusiness Management Association (IAMA) International Association of Agricultural Economists (IAAE) European Association of Agricultural Economists (EAAE) European Research Network on Agricultural Cooperatives (ERNAC) International Cooperative Alliance Research Committee (ICA RC), and others.
Dr. Urutyan has a rich teaching and extensive research experience in the area of rural finance, vertical coordination in agro-food supply chains, contract farming, agricultural cooperatives, as well as socio-economic impact and sustainability assessments. He has served as team leader/coordinator in a large number of research/education projects in Armenia and abroad.

Vardan Urutyan was born  on November 1, 1977.
